What is Cushing's Day of Giving?
Cushing Academy’s Day of Giving is a 1865 minute opportunity for alumni, families, and friends worldwide to join together and support the people and programs that help make Cushing Academy such a special place. Our Day of Giving is not just about making a donation…it’s about making a difference.

Although you can direct your gift to support programs like performing arts or academics, contributing to the Cushing Fund has a unique impact, as it enhances every facet of the Cushing experience for both students and faculty.
What is the Cushing Fund?
The Cushing Fund plays a crucial role in supporting nearly all aspects of life at the Academy. It is vital for maintaining and enhancing our faculty, programs, activities, and facilities. Contributions to the fund provide essential operating support, helping to sustain the Academy’s budget and ensuring financial stability across all departments. By counting on the generosity of our donors each year, we can make the most of our resources today and strategically plan for the future. Your gift to the Cushing Fund directly impacts every part of the Cushing experience and strengthens our community.
What is the Head of School Society?
Cushing’s Head of School Society honors generous donors whose annual contributions from July to June total $1,865 or more. The top levels honor a long-time serving Head of School at Cushing.
What is a "Penguin Icebreaker" and how can I participate?
A Penguin Icebreaker is an informal gathering of Penguins being held in several locations around the country on Thursday April 24.
Regardless of your location we encourage you to sport your Penguin Pride by wearing purple and Cushing gear on April 24 and 25!
Get ready to connect, celebrate, and support Cushing Academy as we take our Day of Giving and World Penguin Day on the road! Join fellow alumni, parents, and friends for a series of pop-up gatherings across the country as we come together to honor Cushing’s legacy and future.
